Rumors Of More
Alright, y’all. Things are happening. Let’s get right to it.
My next album is called Super Dope. It’s coming out on May 5th. Once again, it will be released (in physical forms) by the Handsmade label. They did a great job with King Of Drums and they’ve released some amazing albums since. I hope you’ve been paying attention to what they’ve been up to. For digital, you’ll want to go to my Bandcamp page.
The Super Dope cover art looks like this:
Super Dope is made up of 15 tracks. Here’s the list:
“Turf Rider”
“Mono No Aware”
“Challenge To The Underground”
“Super Dope”
“Evil God”
“Endless Counter-Attack”
“Train Music”
“Breach The Wall Of Smoke”
“Overthrow The Surface”
“DIGITA PNTICS”
“Passport To Infinity”
“The Forbidden Words”
“Shoot The Invader”
“A Gift From The Sky”
“The Monster Anarchy Zone”
To hold you over until Super Dope drops, I’m releasing an EP called 14 KT Gold today. It’s available on Bandcamp now. As I mentioned in an earlier post, one of my original goals for Super Dope was to make it shorter than King Of Drums. When I first assembled all the material I recorded, I was surprised to find it was LONGER than King Of Drums. So I was faced with very difficult decisions over what to cut. I ended up cutting about twenty minutes of material. I believe that having done so, Super Dope is well-balanced and is the lean cut of beef I originally envisioned.
14 KT Gold is made up of about half of the stuff I cut from Super Dope. I’m saving the rest for a project I will turn to later in the year. Here’s the 14 KT Gold track list:
“Here We Go Again”
“Terrifying Cosmic Rays”
“Demons Rise Again”
“Five Seconds Before The Explosion”
“The Missing 10%”
It’s hard to explain but I don’t think 14 KT Gold and Super Dope sound much like each other. It’s two very different vibes. For example, nothing on Super Dope sounds as scary as “Five Seconds Before The Explosion”. And there’s nothing as moody or melancholy as “The Missing 10%”.
There are no current plans to release 14 KT Gold in physical form. Super Dope - on the other hand - will be available on cassette, CD and - eventually - vinyl. You’ll be able to get a copy in your chosen format on the Handsmade website on May 5.
I hope you enjoy 14 KT Gold. Like I said, it’s just a little appetizer. The Super Dope power meal will be served hot next month. Your support is appreciated more than I can tell you. Every time there’s a sale on Bandcamp, I receive a notification email. I see your names. I see your messages. It means everything. Special shout out to El Bleak.
I’m thinking that over the next few weeks, I’ll post up here a few times with thoughts and insights into the Super Dope album in order to give you an idea of what to expect.
Talk soon.
