Let The Record Show
Yes y’all.
A few quick housekeeping items before we get to the meat and potatoes.
First - Be sure to check out Controller 7’s bonkers remix of the epic A7PHA posse cut, “Many Headed”. I know for a fact that Señor 7 worked on this thing for a long, long time. It’s a true labor of love and the result is perfection. I still can’t believe I got to be a part of a song with doseone, Mestizo, Aesop Rock and friggin’ Self Jupiter of Freestyle Fellowship! And how’s this for a bonus: the new remix features the guys from ShrapKnel. Controller 7 has an album with those guys coming out soon. I’m lucky enough to have been treated to sneak peek and I can tell you that it’s astounding. So cool that C7 has been given a seat at the Backwoodz table. Stream the remix where you stream your shit. Buy it digitally here. Get it on vinyl here. Support Controller 7.
Second - I don’t like doing a lot of stuff and interviews are high on that list - especially if there’s a camera involved. But several trusted friends encouraged me to do the DOD45 podcast. I actually put it off for a year or more and then finally did it recently. I’m glad I did. I had a blast. Hopefully it’s the last time I ever talk to anyone. Ha. If you missed it, you can check out the episode here.

Now. The main thing I wanted to talk with you about is this big record show that’s coming up in Toronto this Saturday (April 27, 2024). I’m going to be there, slangin’ records. I’ve been in desperate need of a cull. I’ll be selling a wide mix of stuff. Lots of rare stuff, heat for the beat-makers, classics, weird things, maybe even a few grails. But here’s what I’m wondering: if I bring a box of Buck 65 stuff (including some rarities), will you come? I know this question is only relevant to people who live within an hour or two of Toronto and that’s probably a very small percentage of people reading this post right now. I don’t want to waste any space or effort but if I knew that even a handful of y’all could come through, I’d bring the goods: vinyl, cassettes, CDs, rare stuff, handmade stuff, one-of-a-kind stuff, test pressings, maybe even some merch items. Here’s some of the goods I’ll be toting…
I don’t really know how to gauge this. Let’s try a poll.
How about this: if you think you can make it and you’re looking for something specific, DM me on IG and I’ll try to dig up what you’re looking for. As I’ve said before, if anyone wants to blow me away on an offer for something, there’s not much I’m not willing to move. I still have copies of pretty much everything I’ve ever done. Prices on certain things won’t be cheap. When it makes sense to do so, I’ll try to price a little under market value on stuff. But the sad reality is, I have to protect myself against flippers. It never sits well when someone makes way more money off one my records than I ever did. Know what I’m saying? I’m SO done with that.
By the way, the show is at 292 Brunswick Avenue. Starts at noon. Early admission at 10:00 AM.

That’s it for now. Got some fun ideas in the works for this space and beyond. It’s just a matter of finding the time to execute which is very difficult these days. Thanks so much (as always) for hanging in with me in the meantime.
Until the next.
